There were so many incredible entries this year. Congratulations to everyone who entered! It was very difficult for the judges to pick a winner with such good artworks. But there can only be one winner for each category.

Note: There were no entries in Category 3, so there will only be Category 1 and Category 2’s announcements.

Category 1 (ages up to 13):

1st Place:

Emily.

Judges commented that the “shading is very well done”, “such vibrant colours” and “very neat”. We can hardly believe how skilled you are for your age. Great job!

2nd Place:

Isaac.

Judges commented on the shading in the hair and that cool background with the light/dark colour choice. I also like the vignette around each character, which really helps them to stand out from the background. Nice job!

3rd Place:

Stephanie.

Judges commented on how the colouring page’s neatness, how it has “high attention to detail on the characters” and how the “highlighting/shading is very well done”. A very good job!

Category 2 (ages 14-18):

1st Place:

Micah.

Judges commented on the different choice of lighter colours, the cool idea of adding the lightning bolt down the middle of the background and they can “really see the technique in shading on both characters”. I also love the shadows in the background that accent the glow of the lightning. This is an awesome colouring page!

2nd Place:

Daniel.

Judges comment that the “fire in the background is fantastic” and the contrasting colours of the characters against the fire “really makes them pop”. The colouring is neat too. Great work!

Conclusion:

Everyone did so well in this competition, entering some amazing, unique and talented colouring. The judges told me it was incredibly difficult to choose a winner in each category, and I totally understand why. Every artwork had its own strengths… everyone’s a winner in my opinion!
